It Is Hard Times For Families
Sep 30th
The economy is really hard on families today. With high unemployment, high gas prices, high food prices and no end in sight, families are suffering. One of the hardest parts of life for struggling families is housing. You can see this all over with the number of foreclosures each day. Being homeless for a family can be devastating. Children have a hard time understanding and coping with this fact of life. According to a report by the Urban Institute 25%- 40% of all low-income families in the U.S. have experienced food and housing hardships. This equals millions of families supporting More >
Paying For College
May 25th
It gets harder each year for college bound students to be able to pay for their college tuition. With college costs raising each year and the lack of summer jobs for students some college students will not be able to pay for their tuition. This can be an insurmountable problem which ultimately causes our children to become uneducated. This is a shame and is supported by the latest statistics on education showing American students falling far behind other countries.
It is important for students and their parents to seek every opportunity available to help pay tuitions without incurring tremendous student loan More >
Do You Home-School
May 10th
If you home-school your children then I am sure you could use all the help you can get. Making sure they have the proper forms, worksheets and other printed material can be time consuming. If you need Kindergarten Printables or printables for children through grade 8, look online for a provider, such as Scholastic Printables, to help solve this problem. This will save you both time and money. There are printables available for Pre-K through 8th Grade for a variety of subjects and curriculum. This will give you more time to teach your children instead of preparing to teach your children.

I just saw American Idol on Fontana Direct TV last night. J.Lo (Jennifer Lopez) makes me sick. She is so gorgeous! She has the most beautiful skin I have ever seen. Her skin is so clear and shiny and healthy looking. I would love to have skin like that. How old is she? I’m pretty sure she’s in her thirties, right? She looks amazing. I would love to look as good as she does. I bet she has a lot of makeup on, or procedures done to make her look so good. Probably a hair stylist, a makeup More >
Tips When Motivating Children to Love Education
Mar 10th
Children at their earliest ages should learn and realize the importance of education to their lives. However, there are just some kids who try to resist the norm and insist on doing things their way. How could you motivate your children or teens to treat education as a necessary preparation for their future? Here are some practical and proven effective guidelines.
Teach the value of education early in a child’s life. Children are naturally curious and observant. They may be wondering why you love reading books or magazines. Tell them that they need to learn to read to be able to More >

boy or girl
Guest post of the week by Val Flores
My best friend is having her first child this summer. She’s 20 weeks today, and has an appointment with the midwife to do an ultrasound. She is requesting to find out the baby’s sex, if possible. I am so excited to hear if she is having a boy or a girl. She said she wouldn’t know who to call first, and wanted to be fair, so she’s just going to update her status on Facebook after she finds out, and we will all see at the same time. Can I just More >
How School Buildings Boost Perception of Education
Jan 24th
In general, schools are treated not like any other venues or places in a community. Most of the time, such institutions have good architecture and good facilities to earn respect and trust of parents, who always want a good and conducive environment for their children. In this regard, school buildings and their quality play important roles in bolstering perception of people about education.
No parent would want to send his child to an indecent and uncomfortable school. This is because parents mostly believe that beautiful and homey places help children cope up better so they could open up and learn lessons. More >
JACKSON HOLE
Jan 23rd
Post contributed by Leonard Phelps
We recently visited my cousin who moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He has several odd jobs out there when the ski lifts aren’t open. One is working for Wyoming Home Security installing home security systems. He doesn’t mind having odd jobs because he is out there to simply ski and enjoy himself. He loves to fly fish. Last summer, he caught a record trout. He was so proud of it and e-mailed everyone in the family a picture. My grandfather teases him and says that he moved out there to live the life of leisure. The funny More >

You may already have realized so many times that effective communication is the way to build a good relationship with people. In parenting, it could also play a significant part in the way you raise and interact with your child. Understanding your child entails communicating effectively with him, especially during his difficult and tumultuous times.
Always remember that every time you are listening carefully and intently to your child, he becomes more comfortable and you tend to genuinely understand his feelings and emotions. Realize that proper and effective communication could help build your child’s self discipline. It is also the key More >

The amount of information that’s available on the internet now is just amazing. It’s so great that I can get so many of my errands done online. I don’t miss the days when I had to make a bunch of phone calls to find out information on certain products or services. I do all my banking online, and rarely have to go to a teller for anything. I have also started doing most of my shopping online, which is awesome. I can even order groceries and have them delivered directly to my house. More >
