Having kids is a fun and exciting new step in every couple’s life. A child brings with it lots of new changes that really bring a lot of happiness and joy into a home. Welcoming a baby into your lives is an experience different from any other and a blessing that brings a lot of enjoyable surprises.

It is quite common that people have some expectations about the gender of their future child. Some couples want to have a girl while others prefer a boy. Let’s talk about the reasons why future parents may want to get pregnant with a boy and have a boy baby.

If there is already girls in a family, many parents want to experience also the joy of raising a boy. They may feel that their family is incomplete until they have children with both genders.

Boys are generally interested in totally different things than girls. Fathers may want to experience the joy of buying a toy car or a tool kit for his son and playing with him. There are also some families that wish to have a boy so that their family name can continue. Since girls change their last names after they get married, some couples wish to have boys so that their name lives on after them.

If a family has a business, often it is expected that their son will continue it after parents have retired. This is one of the reasons why a couple may want to have a boy. For some people, the reason for wanting to have a boy is economical. They believe that girls are more expensive to raise because of their penchant for shopping.

In some parts of the world, such as in some countries in Southeast Asia, traditionally the parents of the girl gives a lot of money to the boy’s family. So, in those countries a daughter may become very expensive for the parents while a son can bring in large sums of money.

A new baby is a blessing for the parents, no matter what the gender is. As long as the baby is healthy, you should be grateful.
