Tough Love – Educating Your Child
All parents love their children, but not all of the parents know how to do parenting in the correct way. I am an ultrasound technician having two lovely children. With a high ultrasound technician salary I am able to buy many nice toys and beautiful clothing for my children so they will not feel living poorly. However, I always say to myself that I should not give all what they want. The children need education to be prepared for their adulthood. A teenager could be viewed as an outcome of your parental education because that is how far you have come in the learning process. Yes, you are a seasoned professional by the time your child reaches this age. You will see that these four years will be filled with so much action that they fly by quickly. All parents must partake in essential decisions such as career selections and college choices for their children. Obviously, these decisions will be based on the family and what they think is important. But, a few teens will not have a easy time leaving the nest.
The ongoing banter that goes on with parents and their teens when it comes to trusting them and allowing them to do new things will never end. We tend to think that parents usually want to trust their children. Perhaps a lot of them do trust their kids or think that they do. But yes, it is a big deal for young adults to think that they can be trusted. The main thing that parents will do is bestow trust with the intent of seeing what will take place. Then they just wait around and want their teens to do the right thing. Many times this is all that a parent can do. Basically, if you think you can trust them, then you really only have one option.
Personally, I have always thought that it was not fair to make a seventeen or eighteen year make decisions at this time when they are so inexperienced. Yes, these are wonderful times in which they think they know what they want to do for a living. Of course, there are plenty of options in this day and time. But as a parent, the best that any of us can do is to ensure that they have enough information on the subject. It is available. Then make sure that you always communicate and work with your teenager. Be supportive , but make it known that this is their life that that they are living.
You can love your teens by giving them more work to do around the house. Of course, we are talking about the tween and teenage years. Chances are both parents work, and single parents almost have to do this just to get some help. But we recommended this because it will let them know that their help is needed at home. Yes, the family needs their help. You should tell them why this is done and what you expect them to learn from it. People tend to cooperate if they know why things are happening and that it makes sense to them.
We think that you will find parenting a lot easier if you can communicate effectively with your teens. Obviously, they have to be old enough to understand what you are saying.
